Humanity & Inclusion in Uganda

Humanity & Inclusion has been in Uganda since 2009, helping victims of landmines and other explosive remnants of war to recover through physical rehabilitation, psychological support, and job training.

Although Uganda has been landmine free since 2012, resulting in the closure of Humanity & Inclusion operation in 2013, the country is now being affected by the conflict in South Sudan. More than one million South Sudanese refugees have sought safety in Uganda.

While the country’s generous asylum policy is one of the most progressive in the world, the continued influx is straining host communities and service delivery.

Current Work

In response to the refugee situation, Humanity & Inclusion reopened its operations in the country in 2015. The Humanity & Inclusion team now runs rehabilitation, inclusive education, and psychosocial projects for refugees and Ugandans.
